Kate Moss Looking Good and Doing Good

Supermodel Kate Moss is doing her part to prevent and treat malaria.  Moss modeled a William Tempest corseted dress made of recycled malaria nets for UK group Sport Relief 2010.

Malaria is a mosquito-borne infectious disease found in tropical and subtropical regions that kills between one and three million people each year.  Malara is preventable and treatable.  The insecticide-treated mosquito net is one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to combat the spread of malaria.

Commenting on her role in the efforts Moss stated,”‘I was shocked to hear that one child dies from malaria in Africa every 30 seconds, that’s why I was happy to be involved in this important project for Sport Relief.”

The designer added, “I”m really proud and excited to have designed a dress for Sport Relief with the serious message of highlighting the power of the humble mosquito net as a lifesaving tool against malaria.”
