My boyfriend has been acting strange lately. It all started when I bought him a pair of Creative Recreation sneakers. He says it was the best gift he ever received.

I caught him the other day, staring lovingly down at his feet and those Creative Rec sneaks the way he used to look at me. The shine from the fine leather puts this glint in his eye. I worried that this might be something serious.

The next day, I found a box in the trash. He came bounding down the stairs in a shiny new pair Creative Recreation Cesario Black Vintage sneakers. As I watched him admiring his new purchase, I realized that something very serious was going on. When confronted he told me that the liked his first pair so much he had to have another.

He has a closet full of Nike’s and swears by the support of New Balance but he never showed such affection toward shoes as he did with the Creative Recreation’s. Every day is about the shoes, the sneakers. When I moved them from behind the front door, he got defensive demanding to know what I did with his Creative Recreation sneakers.

We broke up several weeks ago; it wasn’t meant to be. I see him from time to time and he’s always wearing a pair of Creative Recreation sneakers. I hope it works out for them, I really do.
