Beat the Heat with Celebrity Fishtail Braid
The mercury has risen and your lustrous tresses are a problem now. Your hair sweats, breaks and does all the nightmare things that you would never want it to do. Have you ever wondered about the smile of your favorite celebrities while they walk the red carpet? How do they manage their long tresses in the summers? The Answer- Braids.
Yes. You read it right. These braids are nothing like the pigtails you wore as a kid but these are way too stylish, sophisticated and yet comfortable. One braid hairdo that is currently a hit on the red carpets is the side fishtail braid. Check out Ashley Greene in her loose fishtail braids. Messy and elegant at the same time.
The style is easy and you can definitely do it at home. All you would need is a hairbrush, blow dryer, mousse and of course, your long tresses!
Start by blow-drying your hair until you have dried about three quarters of your hair. Work the mousse from the root of the hair to the end. Make a side part and pull your hair to the other side completely. Secure with a low ponytail to hold your locks in place. Now divide your hair into two sections. Pull a thin strip of hair from the right section and place it over the left one. Similarly, pull a thin strip from the left section and place it over the right. Have a strong grip over the hair sections and keep the hair strip thin to get more intricate fishtail look. Now, repeat the steps until you reach the end of your hair. Leave about an inch of hair at the bottom. After you finish, secure you fishtail with an elastic band, preferably the one matching your hair color.
Your ‘red carpet side fishtail’ look is ready for you to flaunt. A smooth and sleek fishtail is perfect for a night out or a poolside party. Your ‘once pestering long tresses’ are sure to turn some heads this summer!
Other braided hairstyles that you can go for the summer are the mini braids on each side of the head that give you a hippie look; side swept braid by wearing the braid across the hair in front and Heidi braids to get a crown braid. French braid, Dutch braid, and multi strand braids are other common types of braiding to beat the heat and look cool on boiling summers.
