Catapult your Career with Calvin

Friday, 14 May, 2010

There are two things that everyone knows about Calvin Klein: their woman’s denim and their men’s underwear.  Both have seen iconic advertising campaigns and catapulted their stars into the limelight, but is booking a campaign a precursor to success?  More often than not.

At just 14 Brooke Shields proved that nothing gets between her and her Calvin’s.  The controversial 1980 campaign made her a household name and sought after actress.  After putting away her Calvin’s, Shields went on to star in the cult film Blue Lagoon, and TVs Suddenly Susan and Lipstick Jungle.

After displaying his wares (pun intended) in Times Square, Mark Wahlberg, put his rapping days behind him, was nominated for an Oscar (The Departed) and now produces the HBO staple, Entourage.

Post CK, Djimon Hounsou was also nominated for an Oscar (Blood Diamond) and pro-created with Kimora Lee Simons.

Antonie Sabato Jr., has stared in a slew of soap operas, Melrose Place and most recently, his own VHI reality show (did he ever find love, I wonder?).

Of those currently parading around in their undies, Mechad Brooks has appeared in Desperate Housewives and the hit  HBO series True Blood, while Kellen Lutz has put his (ridiculous) six-pack to work on The Bold and the Beautiful, 90210, Nightmares on Elm Street, and The Twilight Saga.

The lesson to aspiring stars and starlets? Hit the gym and keep you eyes on the billboard!

Following the Fashions of Trendy Clothing

Friday, 9 April, 2010

As anyone knows in the fashion, industry trends with clothing have evolved and as usual, the designers place all focus on following all fashion demands. Trendy clothing is growing in popularity and I believe this is because even though there are bright and bold colors or worn out denim, these trends are full of comfort. How can anyone that appreciates good fashion and keeps up with the latest trends pass down style and comfort!

Not even the sneaker is ordinary or simple anymore, just check out the latest colors and styles in the Creative Recreation sale! If it is simple you are in search of that is fine, but be a little daring by adding perhaps a chain-link t-shirt. A man that is no problem for you right now, check out the new collection of Dom Rebel. Dom Rebel is a perfect example of what is the latest trendy clothing for men. This is a t-shirt but not your average! Let us just say if you are seeking graphic images, statements or crystals embellishing all over the shirt, check out Dom Rebel collection. Just a tip, take these two products and add a pair of Taverniti So jeans, oh girls you better watch your man, he will become good eye candy! These three products mentioned are just the tip of the iceberg for the flair and fun fashion in trendy clothing.

Trendy clothing anymore can go from simple to extreme and edgy, it is all depends on your personal fashion preferences. Not everything in the fashion industry is elaborated with bright colors and crazy graphics. The designers left plenty of the clothing simple with a conservative look. One of the designers popular for his is Ben Sherman. The men love some Ben Sherman! Ben Sherman adds their share of flair and fun, but they are there for all your conservative fashions as well!

Spring Trends for Woman

Sunday, 14 March, 2010

Womens Fashions
Spring has all but sprung and with come new trends in women’s fashion. Taking clues from the runway and industry insiders, here are a few spring trends you’ll want to try:

  1. The military influence in woman’s fashion continues this spring with flak leather jackets, leather bomber jackets and muted green, khaki and gray colors.  Button details and structured tailing are essential elements of this spring trend. Take the edge off by pairing a military inspired jacket with a ruffled skirt or cigarette pant.
  2. Clean looks following the motto “less is more” are also on trend this spring.  The minimalist trend has been done before, but this time around it’s all about feminine tailoring. Look for well-cut pants and tailored vests in neutrals.
  3. Scuba, football, surfing and skateboarding inspired looks are all on trend this spring. Fresh from the Olympics, nontraditional fabrics like scuba spandex and carefully cut mesh are being used to create familiar shapes in a fresh way.
  4. Dresses are always on-trend for spring.  This year, they range from Raffia-embellished dresses, gingham, pinafores and bell-skirts inspired by decades past.  Prints are essential to this spring trend; look for water-color brush strokes, floral, polka dots and geometric prints.
  5. Dare to bar this spring with something sheer.  Remember to do the sheer trend sparingly: too much sheer will look like lingerie. Do this spring trend correctly by exposing only small portions of the mid-drift, legs or back.
  6. Color is back in a big way this spring.  Look to coral and shades of yellow for a daring pop of color.  Pastels are an appropriate trend for work and play.

Regardless which trend you choose this spring, remember to make it your own.
