Keira Knightley Covers ‘Elle’ March 2010
Posted: 2/8/2010 1:35:35 PM
|
Keira Knightley graces the cover of Elle magazine’s March 2010 issue, on newsstands Tuesday, February 16.
On her character in The Misanthrope: “Jennifer’s kind of a crazy mix of being a complete b—- - confident and terrifying - yet she’s incredibly young and is probably being exploited way more than she actually realizes.”
On criticism of her acting: “Oh, they still say that! Every time I do an interview with the English press, one of their questions is, ‘How do you feel knowing that everyone thinks you’re a s— actress?’”

Miley Cyrus will be auctioning her dress for Haiti relief
Posted: 2/5/2010 10:26:53 AM
|
Who would Miley Cyrus like to collaborate with?
"Lady Gaga. I love her as a person because she doesn't do what everybody else is doing and that's very important."
Miley said she's going to be part of the We Are the World re-make. "I think everybody who is collaborating on that is really talented."
She added, "I think it's really important that everybody come together because disaster relief isn't just now. It's how we're going to help years from now. We have to restore an entire place. It just can't be one person, one foundation, one group of people. All people have to come together and that's what We Are the World is all about. "
Even her Herve Legere dress is going to Haiti relief, she said. "I'm going to auction it off on eBay afterward for the Red Cross. It's the little things you can do."

With plans to expand the label to 50 free-standing stores in the U.S. alone, Dutch denim label G-Star is getting American shoppers familiar with the brand by naming Hollywood beauty Liv Tyler as the new brand ambassador. The star will appear in print advertisements for G-Star through the Fall of 2010. “Liv is a great fit for the brand because she exudes the perfect level of sensuality, a characteristic very important to G-Star,” says the label. “She’s a strong, beautiful and independent woman with an impeccable feeling for style.” And with her rock star roots–Liv is the daughter of Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler–and star pedigree, Liv is the perfect choice to represent this star-loved denim brand.

Karlie Kloss Is Couture Fashion Week’s Top Model
Posted: 2/2/2010 11:53:13 AM
|
Last couture Fashion Week might have been dominated by fresh-faced newcomers, but this couture Fashion Week was a different story. Austrian top model Iris Strubegger opened and closed for Armani Privé, while opening Givenchy, too. Mariacarla Boscono, who normally closes out all of Givenchy's shows, was curiously absent. The label's other face, Natalia Vodianova, did the honors instead. Meanwhile, Karl Lagerfeld selected his belle du jour, Freja Beha, to open his collection for Chanel. And to no one's surprise, Baptiste Giabiconi had the final look, alongside Abbey Lee. But it's our own American Karlie Kloss who takes the win. The new face of Hermès, Dior, and Oscar de la Renta opened for Elie Saab, and closed Jean Paul Gaultier's spectacle of a show. The rising star's dominance on the runway and in print is a sure sign that she is one model who is here to stay.

Juicy Couture’s Founders Have Left the Company
Posted: 2/1/2010 11:24:20 AM
|
The future of "Juicy"-stamped asses may be on the line now that Juicy Couture founders Gela Nash-Taylor and Pamela Skaist-Levy have stepped down. Liz Claiborne, which bought the label in 2003, said their departure is in keeping with their contract. Yet why would they leave Claiborne's most successful brand behind? Granted, that isn't saying much since Claiborne has been tanking horribly for a while now, but Gela and Pamela say they just wanted to "bust out." They've netted $200 million there so they may as well start taking risks.
"We stayed seven years, which is a long time," Nash-Taylor said.
They have been working on a TV show, a movie and a book, Skaist-Levy said. "We're super-creative girls. We want to bust out and do everything."

The guidos and guidettes of MTV’s Jersey Shore are all expected back for the show’s next season — but there’s still some confusion about where the series will be set. The New York Post claims the troupe could be headed for New York’s Hamptons for season 2, while The Chicago Sun-Times has South Beach Miami as the most likely next stop for Snooki & The Crew.

Hayden Panettiere thinks red hair makes her less 'cute.' We think.
Posted: 1/28/2010 1:27:31 PM
|
"Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere was at a screening for the upcoming HBO original movie "Temple Grandin" on Tuesday (Jan. 26) night and was more than happy to talk about why she decided to go red ... follically speaking that is.
"I'm typically a very fiery person anyway," Hayden tells Us, "but I just feel like cute and blonde and little is just so one category and one thing and changing my hair color, I feel like I don't have to overcompensate so much for the fact that I don't like being called cute or anything like that - especially being all 5-foot-2 of me."

'Top Model' Nicole Fox crushes on 'Twilight's' Robert Pattinson, snags Alexander McQueen gig
Posted: 1/28/2010 1:15:46 PM
|
Who says "America's Next Top Model" winners don't go on to great things? \Try Robert Pattinson and Alexander McQueen. Pretty great, huh?
International designer Alexander McQueen has hired last season's "ANTM" winner Nicole Fox as the face of his spring/summer 2011 collection. Even more impressive: She's already met Robert Pattinson and wants to see him again.
"I have a crush on him and I met him last year in New York during his promotional tour for "'New Moon.'" Actually, they met backstage at "Regis and Kelly" in New York.
Fox, who sort of looks like a cross between "Twilight" stars Kristen Stewart and Rachel Lefevre, will appear in print and multi-media ads for the British designer, making her the first "Top Model" winner to land an international campaign.
But back to Pattinson: Nicole hopes her new McQueen gig could get "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson's attention.
Fox might just run into Rob again next month. Both are expected to be part of New York fall fashion week.
Wait, what? Robert Pattinson at fashion week? Modeling or sitting in the front rows or both? It doesn't really sound like his thing. But if it's true, buy your plane tickets, book your hotel rooms, and organizers, hire more security.
