SNOWBOARDING W/ VIVA LA BAM FROM MTV!
Posted: 1/30/2009 12:49:48 PM

GN KANg of wired 96.5 is one of my very best girlfriends. (check out gnkang.com) and her station was having a ski trip to BLue Mountain in PA with none other than Bam Margera of MTV's Jackass and of Vivla la Bam, and all those other shows he has.

Who else would you want to snowboard with? It was a blast and we all had sooo much fun. I am still in too much pain... but it was worth it.

My boy Jeremy was out and about with Bam as well. Jeremy is from Nocturnal Skate Shop in Philly (where you can get the sweetest skateboards this side of the Misssisssippi!). He helped me get to my feet and stay up long enough to fall back down! hah just kidding... i ripped it up! (not really).

So much good stuff... I am going back up ASAP! Bam actually shops at emoda at our Philly location. You should check out are great stuff all avaliable online.

what does $110,000 dollars worth of Diamonds look like?
Posted: 1/27/2009 5:20:54 PM

For the Music Video I styled and was in for a hot minute, H. Bandi jewelers here in Philadelphia provided me with a custom made bracelet and matching ring worth over $110,000. The Bracelet was worth over $96,000! I have never felt sooo expensive!

In the picture I am wearing Blank Jeans in cranberry and Dolce Vida shoes... both avaliable online at eModa.com. I was also wearing jewelry from Wintanley Social... great price points and awesome stuff. That stuff is also on eModa.com. Uh.... my birthday is in October and I love any other holidays that involve gift giving... where I receive gifts! So if you were wondering what to get me... call my boy at H. Bandi and hook a girl up! haha

The Video will be on MTV and all over all the music channels. I even made a couple apperences in the video so look out for me! I just became a one time video hoe! haha

Out-of-touch designer Tom Ford
Posted: 1/27/2009 2:10:40 PM

Out-of-touch designer Tom Ford just put up $990 jeans for sale. You may be wondering, what makes them worth all that dough? Well, its made from Japanese selvedge denim that feels and looks raw but has been pre-washed and pre-shrunken so the indigo doesn’t rub off on your clothes. The button is plated with 18-karat gold, and the pockets are silk lined. Even rich people are broke these days, Tom.

New Prez! We need it!!!
Posted: 1/21/2009 10:52:59 AM

With a historic day yesterday... our country now has a new hope for a brighter 4 years. I would personally love to know what the new President is thinking... get inside his brain.

The immense amount of pressure he is facing to change what is broken would drive a normal person to tears. The pressure of 365 million citizens is a great deal of weight to bear, plus the entire planet is looking to this man to change it all.

I feel that if you would place yourself in this man's shoes... you, for that moment would be truly great as well.

Obama has created social change, being launched into not only world leader but also pop icon. I am very much looking forward to what will become of this country during his term and am also feeling grateful to have the opportunity to live now... when so much can change so quickly. So exciting.

Michelle Obama's Inauguration Dress
Posted: 1/20/2009 12:56:18 PM

Drum roll please. After months of heated speculation about what our brand new First Lady Michelle Obama would wear to the official swearing-in ceremony, the big news is in: Isabel Toledo.

Obama's choice of a sparkly gold-yellow brocade ribbon-closed coat and dress ensemble with a bejeweled collar is significant on at least two counts. First, the color. Since the Elizabethan Era, shades of yellow have symbolized renewal and hope, a platform on which Obama based his campaign. Also, newly sworn in President Barack Obama has been vocal about his desire to improve relations with Cuba, and some wonder if the First Lady's choice of Toledo, who is Cuban-born, and Narciso Rodriguez, also of Cuban descent, for Sunday's "We Are One," concert ?? has deeper meaning.

What do you think???

To settle lawsuit, stores to give away $175 million in cosmetics
Posted: 1/20/2009 12:37:55 PM

January 14, 2009 (WPVI) -- On Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 14 department store chains, Including five that do business in our area, will be giving away $175-million worth of cosmetics.

The give-away is the settlement of a 2003 class-action lawsuit. It accused the stores and cosmetics companies of preventing the products from ever going on sale.

You can take advantage of the give-away if you lived in the United States and bought makeup from the retailers or manufacturers between May 1994 and July 2003. READ FULL STORY!

New faces on deck for Fashion Week
Posted: 1/13/2009 12:18:18 PM

Fur-trimmed jackets and chic gowns are not the only things debuting on the runways at Fashion Week at Bryant Park next month. The eight-day event will feature some fresh faces when it begins Feb. 13

With the retail industry still reeling from a dismal holiday season and shoppers shunning luxury purchases, Fashion Week is set to arrive like an ostentatious cousin everyone would prefer to ignore. In recent weeks, big-name designers like Vera Wang, Betsey Johnson and Carmen Marc Valvo have opted out of the extravaganza at the tents, deciding instead to cut their costs in anticipation of decreasing attendance and interest.

But the dropouts are paving the way for smaller designers who still need the publicity boost that only a Bryant Park tent show can provide. Emerging fashion houses, including Nicholas K, Adam Lippes and Justin Timberlake's William Rast label, are taking advantage of so many open time slots to introduce their fall collections.

“It's a time when you want to do a little more marketing for your brand, if you have the resources,” says Nicholas Kunz, who founded Nicholas K with her brother, Christopher, six years ago.

IMG Fashion, which manages Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, insists the roster will be full—more than 70 designers showed at the tents in September. It says major designers, including Carolina Herrera and Tommy Hilfiger, will still strut their wares.

The remaining big names will help smaller designers catch the eye of editors and buyers who wouldn't schlep around the city to see their creations in showrooms.

Stuck on your favorite brands??
Posted: 1/13/2009 10:44:30 AM

Although the nation is in the midst of a financial recession, some avid clotheshorses are still stuck on their fave brands, regardless of the cost. Two of the brands that seem to be weathering the economic storm are Laguna Beach Jean Co. and True Religion, two labels that are synonymous with “high-end denim”.

Laguna Beach has been around since the fall of 2007, originating in SoCal (as their name would suggest). This denim is comes standard with heavy topstitching, vinyl back-pocket appliqué (in different styles to represent different Cali beaches) and bold pewter hardware (skulls for the guys, fleurs-de-lis for the girls). That’s where the uniformity ends, as Lagunas come outfitted with everything from metal domeheads to Swarovski crystals. Different washes add variety and the stitching comes in a slew of colors, perfect for coordinating with tops and footwear. While the more detailed LBJC denim (especially that with crystals) runs nearly $300, both male and female consumers have been thumbing their nose at the economy, buying up piece from this line left and right.

True Religion jeans speak for themselves. Founded in 2002, this ubiquitous line quickly expanded to include tops, footwear and accessories. Denim, however, is what the brand is best known for, and despite the recession fashion kings and queens alike are sticking with what they know. What makes TR jeans special are their premium, individual washes, each one bearing a different (and often humorous) name. A variety of cuts for both gals and guys makes for an appealing buy, and we all know those trademark horseshoe logos have become a veritable status symbol. True Religions range from just under $200 all the way up to $350, depending on the style, wash and stitch. However, many consumers continue to purchase this label, drawn to their quality and consistency.

Other brands with loyal followings are Rock & Republic, Monarchy and 7 For All Mankind. To check out any of the brands mentioned in this article (along with a whole host of others), visit us at eModa.com.

The latest major trend to hit is... the triumphant return of Hammer pants!! You can't be to legit to quit on this one cause, these... believe it or not, for both guys and girls, will be what only the most fashionable will be wearing.

The new cool name for them is "Slouch PANTS". They range from denim to soft cotton fabrics. They will be big with both short styles and long pants. If you think looking like you have a poopy diaper is sexy... you're in luck cause they will be everywhere! I can't wait to jump on the band wagon. At least this style will be forgiving to your figure... ahah. That is always a plus!

Kid Robot is crazy...
Posted: 1/9/2009 3:51:01 PM

What to say about America's leading crazy brand of funky colored fashion? We love this stuff. Bright colors and super funny graphics make Kid Robot the fav of tons of celebs and Japanese people! With adorable cartoon characters on really well made designs give a breath of fresh happy air to the fashion world (unless you are standing next to their smoking bunny rabbit).

They have great accessories as well, including an entire line of bags as well as toys. Things as cool as little ornaments for you to put on your zipper pulley (who does not need one of those?).
My personal gym bag is one of theirs and I get happy just looking at that color filled piece of greatness. Deliciousness for your eyes. I can sooo see super cool guys like Farrell Williams wearing this stuff, or maybe a really funky killer cool kid from Tokyo. It is a slash of different stuff.
Marina looked hot on their crazy cigarette smoking bunny...disturbingly cute...

Questions everyone wants to know about...
Posted: 1/9/2009 3:44:32 PM

We wanted to answer what all the magazines have been asking us... So if they are asking for my advice... you should listen up!

1. What is the best way to find a style just right for you?

Style is all about feeling comfortable in what you are wearing. The first and most necessary thing about finding your own style is asking yourself "what do I feel the best in"? From that point you move forward and continue to build and expand on that.

2. How do you determine just the right size?

The right size again comes from comfort. The clothing must not be cutting into any part of your body but at the same time you can’t be swimming in it. For anyone who was not born with the figure of a department store mannequin, your local dry-cleaning/alterations place can become your new best friend. It is very easy to find a piece of clothing that fits well in one area and perhaps not as well in the next… this does not mean pass on it, it simply means you might need to "help" it fit you better by having it slightly altered. This tip will make your life much easier and your wardrobe far more fantastic than before.

3. What is your favorite look for this season?

For this season I love the bohemian/ fashionista thing. I love big over sized cardigans with liquid leggings and funky scarves. Guys in thinner legged denim with killer high topped sneaks and a great smart fedora or paper boy cap. For me accessories are getting to be a very big deal this season for both guys and girls. Guys can make anything look a little sharper and more put together with great leather roped dog tag and perhaps a cool leather cuff. Girls will do well adding a super long chained medallion necklace with a mixture of funky bangles to any ensemble.

Rock Bands are sick...
Posted: 1/9/2009 3:41:51 PM

Leather wrist bands have been a big deal for a while now, but I feel like this summer they have gotten even bigger. This brand that we just picked up is called Rock Bands and they are amazing. The leathers used are exotic and beautiful and the stones all have healing properties. It is amazing. I personally bought the green snake skin with jasper as the stone. This stone is considered to be the "nurturing stone", it helps promote relaxation, enhances healing, balances ying and yang energies, protects against negativity (who doesn't need that?), causes tranquility and comfort, helps the liver, gallbladder and stomach and opens the abdominal shakra. Um… on top of all this they look sick! They are so hot and every Celebes is wearing them. I can not even name them all. Britney Spears has one on in almost every picture… a white one (hope that one helps promote “not craziness…”), Jessica Simpson, Will.I.Am, Yao Ming, Terrell Owens (who shops with us at eModa) and sooo many more. We sell them here and you should jump on this fast mover before they are taken by all the celebrities! It is madness!
The Link to check them out and buy them is here:
