Oscar night winners

Last night was the 81st Oscars. It ws an amazing night. Kate Winselt won for best actress, Sean Penn for best actor and Slum Dog Millionare for movie of the year.
Though Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were both nominated for "best" awards.... the Hollywood golden couple walked with nada... Weird!
Hugh Jackman who hosted the show, had a chance to show everyone that he is a true entertainer. From his backround in musicals, Jackman sang and danced up a storm. Also sharing his spotlight with the talented Mrs. Beyonce Knowles.
It was a show to see. The Oscars have been recently getting declining ratings but I feel it is safe to say that after this show te Oscars might be back in full force.

Just because she's Posh, doesn't mean that Victoria Beckham can sell a line of $300 jeans.
After being dropped by Henri Bendel and Kitson for poor sales, Saks is will not be re-stocking their shelves with Vicky B's dVb denim collection.
Besides the fact that "Nobody wanted to buy $300 jeans from someone who is not a trained designer," a source says that "they [Saks] were offended when she sold her dress line to Bergdorf's and not to Saks, even though Saks launched her denim line in their New York store."
Her dress collection, however, is expected to sell better, not because it has her name on it but because "everyone loves Roland Mouret designs, and hers look just like his."
A rep for Vikki confirmed the break up, saying, "At this time there is no Victoria Beckham product stocked at Saks, but we continue to work closely with several leading stores and many independent US fashion retailers."

Chris Brown has done the unthinkable. An act that is unforgivable...
I am sooo saddened to report that a picture of Rihanna was released that was taken moments after Chris Brown beat her after a pre-Grammy's party hosted by Clive Davis.
The worst thing about this is that he might be charged with attempted murder. Because this picture was taken right after the beating the bruising and swelling has yet to manifest, which of course means that several hours after this picture was taken Rihianna's appearance became quite a bit more gruesome.
It is reported that after making a verbal threat to kill her Chris then started to strangle the young singer until she passed out. Hence the possible attempted murder charge.
This is unacceptable. If you or anyone you know is in any way shape or form being abused please contact help. It has also been reported that back in December of this year Chris had strangled her and she did nothing about it. If you are being abused it will continue! People with abusive tendencies always strike again, no matter how many apologies they give you. Help yourself.

Flo Rida's new single RIGHT ROUND (which I LOVE LOVE LOVE) has broken all digital sales records!!!!
According to Nielsen Soundscan, the single had 636,000 digital downloads in one week! He will be number one the Billboards 100!!
Sampling the tune from Dead or Alive (which has also been coverd by Marliyn Manson) but adding his own Florida Hip-POP sound to the ulta swanky new club mash hit. This tune will be taking over the air waves and your brain any second now!

Marina and I went and did a girls night out... it was an event that was worth getting out of bed for. G Lounge which is avery exclusive night club in Philadelphia was celebrating their one year, and decided to have a big bash filled with some major peeps.
Besides all the athletes they had a few faces that were suprising to see.
Lance Bass was in attendence along with other fellow Dancing with the Stars tour members. Benji Madden from Good Charlotte (and Paris Hilton ex boy toy) was hanging at the table next to mine... until he got up to start spinning! He was a great DJ. His table.... of course.. was filled with Playmates. Not suprise there.haha
We had ourselves a great night. One of my BFF's G-N Kang was in the mix looking lovely as always. Check out her blog sometime www.gnkang.com

Monarchy's Bryant Park Debut is AMAZING

On Valentine's day I was lucky enough to be at the Monarchy Collection Debut at Bryant Park. This is not your typical L.A. brand. Do not think about tattoo tees and rinestones....
This was a full well though out collection. Beautiful coats with amazing details. I was so impressed. It was so much more than I had thought it could be. I am so excited to see how this line continues to evolve.
Eric Kim, the mastermind behind the collection is increadibly talented and has been quoted to say that he invisions Monarchy to be the American Diesel.
I am personally a big Diesel fan, but honestly I can see Monarchy keeping that promise. I can not wait till we get all this stuff in here at eModa.com
One piece that I really loved was the Leather jacket / dress. It was amazing. The details in the cut and the fit of it was to die for. The Men's collection was also very strong. The outterwear had such detailed bits that you could not stop your eyes from following it down the runway.
I also really loved how dresseed up the line was. Yes it is casual wear but no one says to be casual you need to be a bum. Nice ties, Knee boot for guys, for the ladies classy coats, high waisted riding pants... all so classic but very modern.

It was a terrible collection. Everything looked the same.
The night started off with the rudest little girl checking me in for the show. She was a little monster, just a nasty thing! I could not believe how snotty she was... unreal. So that right there was not a good way to start a fashion filled evening.
As my friend and I went to sit (haha)... I noticed all the little celebs filling the room... more of them then fashion people. I thought to myself... "must be nice to be JT, all of Hollywood adores you and they all want front row at your fashion show."
I adore JT too. Him on SNL is about my favorite thing in life, he makes great music is as cute as a button... don't confuse that for me thinking he can do no wrong. That wouldn't be true.
I am not sure how much thought went into this collection (their second full), but I will say I was very disapointed in the golden child.
All of the men's collection had them in what I would call skirt tees... looking like they were running from ballet onto their Harley's to ride into the rebel sun. I don't understand. Why put a guy in a blazer and denim and then make him wear a skirt under?
As for the women's collection I feel like it was a bit stronger but still really lacking. They focused on making the torsos of these girls look even longer with strange shoulder pads. I am not sure but these girls just looked like weirdos.
Before you hate me... the whole thing was not the worst thing ever... there were SOME strong individual pieces. It is just the way they chose to show the collection that was lacking.... seriously lacking...

Back in September, menswear label Five Four sold out of a new $325 peacoat in one week. Buoyed by strong orders from retailers, including Macy's, designer Andres Izquieta ordered luxurious fabrics from an Italian mill.
"I was thinking we were going to have a new category of $300 to $500 coats for fall 2009," says Mr. Izquieta, 28 years old. His co-chief executive, Dee Murthy, also 28, was confident, too; indeed, he had splurged on a new Aston Martin Vantage sports car for himself in March.
Alas, when world markets crashed the following month, consumers snapped their wallets shut. Many of the retailers that sold Five Four's trendy, casual jackets, shirts and other heavily detailed pieces canceled orders or backed out of payments.
Suddenly, Five Four found itself in free fall. "I feel like I woke up the first week of October, when everything stopped," Mr. Murthy says. The founders of the Los Angeles-based company would have to act quickly.
In the aftermath of last fall's credit crunch, the future is unclear. But as businesses like Five Four traverse the new terrain, they are creating long-lasting changes that will affect all consumers -- from where clothes are produced to their price and quality.
Marketing guru Paco Underhill predicts that the business world "will change more in the next five years than it has in the past 100." The process isn't purely destructive. "Each time something is gone, it frees up room," Mr. Underhill says. Five Four's scramble -- ranging from its rethinking of supplier and vendor relationships to an expansion into socks, rather than $500 coats -- show the evolution under way.
Knowing that only the agile would survive, Mr. Murthy and Mr. Izquieta worked quickly last fall to save their seven-year-old company. The line of $500 coats was out. They decided the new price had to be below $200.

Chris Brown and Rihanna Grammy NO SHOWS! For a very bad reason...

Both Chris Brown and his long time girlfriend singer Rihanna were no where to be found at the Grammy's yesterday. CHris Brown was even schduled to perform and he and Rihanna were both nominees.
The reason we hear for the no show was an alleged felony assult charge on Chris Brown by an unknown WOMAN!! No word on if Rihanna was a part of it or even there. I am sure we will find out the truth soon enough.
Not many details are out but Brown did turn himself into a police station today. Neither of their offical reps have given any word as of yet. I never would have thought the sweet seaming brown would be such a way...
I actually saw them out a few months back... they had the table next to mine in a Philadelphia club. They were both very sweet and polite. I hope all is well and we here at eModa wish them the best.

Lindsay Lohan is not only modeling her own clothes -- err, leggings -- she's also pimping Italian clothing and lifestyle brand for young women, Fornarina.
After being named the face of Fornarina back in May 2008, the Italian clothing company recently unveiled its Spring/Summer '09 campaign -- with a sultry Lohan posing in casual urban streetwear atop a Los Angeles landscape.

So it's out on the gossip sites that I quit my job at Playboy, which is true. I quit for several reasons: 1. I moved to Vegas and that job doesn't pay enough to make a commute worthwhile ( I never cared about the salary when I got the job-I made my money doing Girls Next Door and I just did the job because I loved it.) 2. After two years of it, I no longer found it challenging. It got to be routine, which was sad for me, since I was initially so passionate about the job and the creative aspects involved. 3. It was awkward. Not that anyone tried to make it awkward or didn't treat me fairly . . . it just was.
It annoys me when people call the job fake as if it was just a set up for the show. If I had wanted a fake career for Girls Next Door I would have stuck with the jewelry line because that required very little of my time. I spent way more than full time directing shoots, editing, making mock layouts and approving retouching.
So as you can imagine, when one is trying to move on with their life, it isn't beneficial to spend so much time on something that doesn't pay much and sadly enough is no longer rewarding to you.
But I loved my job while I had it, appreciate the opportunity and the experience greatly and wish whoever takes my place the best.

He is highly involved in the politic of the Sierra Leon and works diligently to do what he can for the region. He himself is a gentetic decendent of the Mende people of the region. He has also served as an advisor to President Ernest Bai Koroma of the Republic of Sierra Leone. Washington served as a member of the President's personal delegation while the newly democratically elected President addressed the United Nations for the first time. The following day, President Koroma traveled to Washington, D.C.
During the recent inaguration of President Obama, Isaiah was honorded at a luncheon in D.C. for all his hard work for the Sierra Leon region of Africa. Before he made his trip... Isaiah took a moment to click and shop on eModa.com
